One of the best places on
cruise ships to work the ever popular is the Casino - more free time to go ashore than other departments. You have the casino tables, cashdesk or the slots, either one is a great place to work. It is obviously about the smooth running of the operation. You have the Casino Manager who is in charge (some of the bigger ones have a marketing manager above), then the Assist. Managers, CashDesk Managers,Slots Manager,Supervisors, Dealers, Cashiers, slot technicians. So there is quite a variety of jobs available - casinos have always had a bit of mystique about them, though it is not always such a wonderful environment to work in, people smoke etc.
To get a casino job on a cruise ship you do need a few years casino experience behind you, for cashiers normally working in a bank or change bureau, to apply for a cruise job. In other countries you apply to your hiring agent for Royal Caribbean. If you enter Royal Caribbean.com in your browser then search for careers.
https://jobs.rccl.com/jobs/rccl_jobs.nsf/shipboard Casino Dealers normally have to do tables test in there respective countries, normally one of the ships casino managers or assist. comes over to do the table tests. After if you have passed you get to do an interview with someone either from Miami. The reason for a table test is that some people can bluff and say they have dealt the games but maybe someone has shown them on a ironing board how to deal blackjack or something similar. Once all is done and you have been put in there database, you will get contacted by your hiring agent to let you know. He will organize for you to go for a full medical, for you american c1d1 visa, and generally assist you with your air ticket. You have to pay for the all of the things mentioned.
Depending where your cruise ship will be based out of Miami or Europe, you will receive all contact numbers, instructions, you generally stay in a hotel the first night before joing. The first day joining the cruiseship is normally pretty scarey, lots of forms to fill out, safety talks, uniforms, meeting the management of the ship, getting to your cabin that will be your home for the duration, unpacking. You will generally have to work the first night. The first week is settling in and finding your way around the cruise ship, safety training galore. Once that first week is over you can relax and enjoy yourself. https://jobs.rccl.com/jobs/rccl_jobs.nsf/shipboard http://tuxedorentals.rccl.com/jobs/hiringmap.nsf/HiringPartners.html https://jobs.rccl.com/jobs/rccl_jobs.nsf/shipboard#jo
