Michigan Cruise Ships?

November 8th, 2009

Hello all. I am interested in Cruise Ship employment, however I live in Central Michigan. I have had Cruise Ship experience, but we only went out nine miles into international waters and came back(a day cruise) into port. Now I live in Michigan and wonder if there are any luxury cruise ships that go out from Michigan (since it’s pretty much surrounded by water).

Thx.

not from michigan. try florida, the gulf coast, san diego, new york. vancouver bc.

Where can I send my résumé/coverletter for work aboard a carribean cruise ship?

November 6th, 2009

I am looking EVERYWHERE on google, and the adresses for people seeking employment (mail or email) are very hard to find. can I get any help please? this is my dream.

On this website you will find a list of cruise lines: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cruise_lines

Go to the wikipedia page of each company and at the bottom will be a link to that company’s home page.

On the company homepage there will be a link saying RECRUITMENT or CAREERS, if there is not then go to CONTACT US and there should be an e-mail address there.

Check out that on the wikipedia list they are listed according to country headquarters, so it would be sensible to only enquire a job at those companies with a headquarters in your country.

And final tip: don’t wait for a job to be advertised. Send a resumé anyway, along with a cover note. Google information on how to write a cover letter and a resumé, keep both brief and nicely formatted.

has anybody worked on a cruise liner?

November 1st, 2009

i have recently been offered employment with princess cruises, any tips on what to pack?

Pack any basics- and what you may want to make you feel at home in your cabin- as in pictures, music, books etc. You won’t have to pack a lot since you will have a uniform and you will accumulate much more that you board with.
And by basics- a few sweaters, T-shirts, shorts, bathing suits, socls, undies, pjs etc. Me? I’d have to have my teddy bear!

how would i know if an employment agency is legal?

October 31st, 2009

I submitted my resume at Cruise Internation:Cruise International” <consumerdir@cruiseshipjob.net>, I think they are an employment agency for jobs on cruise. But before they can process my application, I need to pay a processing fee. Before i make any payment i want to make sure that I am dealing with the real people processing such employment.

Check on-line with Companies House they should be able to help you. Normally when people request money I feel they are a bit dubious. Good Luck

Rather look at Royal Caribbean International, rccl, or one of the cruise lines, Celebrity Cruises, they have a link for hiring agents in your countries, then you don’t pay them a fee, only for your C1D1 visa, physical and air ticket, which they should help arrange.

Please give me details about Global Cruise Employment?

October 28th, 2009

Almost every cruise line has careers sections on their sites so you can look for jobs. Most recruitment agencies advertising cruise jobs are scams so you have to contact the cruise lines yourself
Here are some big cruise sites careers sections
