Nr 1 Goal-do Cruise Jobs on Ships

<img src="cruiseshipimage/cruise-jobs.jpg alt="Cruise Jobs">

A RCCL Ship in Costa Maya, Mexico

We all start off with our main goals in life, mine of course was cruise jobs on ships, mainly to see all the places in the world, my dad was in the navy. I grew up in Cape Town which is still after all my travels still one of the most picturesque places in the world. I got to see almost all the places I dreamt of as a child, except Mcchu Picchu in Peru

1st Break to get Cruise Jobs on ships

My life on cruise ships started through a friend who was working on a ship out of Cyprus, there were 3 of us, we started working on a Louis Cruise Line ship doing cruises to Israel, Egypt and the Greek Islands. I worked on 2 ships with them, 2 stints on both. It was to be the start of a long life on cruise ships, eighteen years in total….yes some people do it for a few years and quit, I kept going. I loved seeing all the new places, well eventually they were not new, got to do India twice, Norway until I dreamt of the place.

The French cruise ship the Mermoz

I got a taste of what life on cruise ships were about, working out of Cyprus, I loved doing that part of the world, Egypt, Israel and the Greek Islands, Cyprus is a wonderful place and the people. Then it was time to move on, after a year I got a job on a French Cruise Ship the Mermoz owned by Croisieres Paquet. I worked for a casino concessionaire Casinos Austria. The Mermoz, sadly, does no long exist, she was sold to strangely enough to Louis Cruise Line, scrapped her after a few years.  The Mermoz was by far my favorite cruise ship, even after all those years (18), she was a classic old lady, very French.  I saw practically all the world, working on board her. Thank You Mermoz for the wonderful experiences of seeing the Galapagos Island not once but twice, Cuba, India, South America, Norway even my home town Cape Town, and then some really remote places as well, St Helena Island midway into the Atlantic, that is just a few. They even had wonderful musical cruises, theatrical ones, where they would go to places in old amphitheatres in Greece and do shows there, or have classical show on board.

Cruise jobs on a ferry boat

I even did a short stint on a ferry boat between Greece and Northern Italy, Anek Lines during the winter, lovely choppy seas of course. The money was good on there I worked for an American man who had the concessionaire on there.  My life changed, I then went to work out of New Orleans doing the Caribbean for Commodore Cruise Line, no longer exists. It was fun doing the Caribbean, going to the beach, wonderful experiences.

I returned to Europe and got a job with an English Casino Concessionaire, Southern Games based in Fulham, London.  I did quite a lot of different ships with them, the Portuguese ship the Funchal, which I did Brazil for the summer season three times, one of my favourite places is Brazil, the people just have so much energy, the place has a real buzz about it, the music. The Funchal would do seasons out of Sweden, the Norwegian fjords, beautiful, then Mediterranean, she kept moving, was in all different languages as well. I did some ships out of Palma de Majorca, one strangely enough yet again a Louis Cruise Line ship (haunting me) that was owned previously by Croisieres Paquet the owners of the Mermoz. It seem strangely intertwined, I never did figure that out. I also did the wonderful cruise ship Marco Polo joining her in Singapore coming back to the Mediterranean.

I ended my cruise history by doing 8 years with Royal Caribbean International, doing three of their Celebrity ships, wonderful cruise line as well.  The Royal Caribbean ships are getting bigger and bigger, I did three of the Voyager class one.  I highly recommend working for Royal Caribbean, check out their website.
I managed to fulfill my numer one goal and many others along the way, the moral is to follow your gut feeling inside with many things in life, for all of your thinking about that be adventurous get a cruise jobs for you, aim for the goals and things will happen for you.

Cruise jobs; who pays for the air ticket?

May 10th, 2010

Here’s the question, Who pay for the air ticket for your Cruise Jobs?

Sorry that some of you might be rolling your eyes at my ignorance now, ha!ha! But was wondering, I’m a Singaporean and the cruises I am interested to work in don’t exactly dock here, meaning I’d need to fly over; who pays for the air ticket and what other charges do I need to consider? Thanks for the advice!!
you should call or email someone in human resources to see if the company will pay for your airfare but either way i would report it on my taxes as a moving/business expense other charges: -cab -food -hotel

is there any cruise ship jobs agency in london that is not a crab?

March 17th, 2010

i dealt with 1 agency for cruise ship since may n still nothing,no jobs n no promises ,funny part i have paid my money for their service.n every time i check them, got stories,some1 plis help with good agency.

What kind of job are you looking for? You can go directly to Harding Bros in the UK and they have lots of jobs in gift shops onboard a variety of cruise ships.

Once onboard as a shoppie, you can apply as a Purser or something else directly via the Hotel Director or Chief Purser. (That’s how I got my job!)

But you will need to complete a full contract as a Shop Assistant first…

Best thing – it won’t cost you anything to apply!

Your Talents For a Free Cruise

February 22nd, 2010

*********************************************** Your Talents For a Free Cruise ~ By Daniel Hall http://rosa22.djh1001.hop.clickbank.net/ *********************************************** It’s true!  You can trade your talents for free (or substantially discounted) luxury cruises. Cruise line management is very interested in keeping their passengers happy at all times.  This goal is a bit more challenging on days when the ship’s at sea.  To address this issue the cruise lines offer all manner of onboard activity.  Many of these activities are staffed by outside people who typically cruise free or at discounted fees paid to booking agencies.  One key advantage is the time commitment, which is generally minimal for those who are contracted (usually an hour per day on days when the ship’s at sea).  Also, most outside contractors get to bring along a traveling companion who also cruises free. You may consider whether you could trade your talents for free cruises.  To assist in your self- assessment here is a list of positions typically staffed by outside people: Enrichment Lecturer: Many cruise lines have formal enrichment programs that offer edutainment type programs in a variety of topics.  A majority of these programs use destination-driven lectures although many lines will also consider general interest topics. Arts and Crafts Instructors: Craft classes are an onboard staple at sea.  Projects range from so called “high art” like watercolor classes to simple macramé projects.  Typically, the more popular classes are those that are also destination related, i.e. handicraft or folk art of one of the countries on the itinerary. Dance Instructors:  These classes too are often related to the destinations being visited, i.e., Line dances (Texas); Meringue (Dominican Republic); Salsa (Puerto Rico), Samba (Brazil), Tarantella (Italy) etc..  Obviously you must have happy feet and know your business, but there is much fun to be had. Bridge Players: If you enjoy playing bridge and have a “knack” for it, you can spend a couple hours a day in the game room playing in exchange for your cruise.  Many times a requirement here is that your traveling companion must be ready, willing and able to sit in on a game should a pair need to be completed in order to play. Gentleman Host: Single? Chatty? Happy feet? Impeccable manners? Gentleman will be expected to appropriately entertain unescorted ladies on the cruise.   Dancing and polite company are the stock in trade for this onboard position. Computer Instructors: Many cruise lines are very interested in contracting with folks who can deliver a series of onboard computer classes. The list does not end here.  Many cruise lines will consider any kind of tasteful and interesting activity.  In any event, trading your talents for free cruises is worth investigating further. Daniel Hall, has cruised the world as an onboard speaker and is teaching others to do the same through his new program Speak on Cruise Ships: Eight Easy Steps to a Lifetime of Free Luxury Cruises Get started cruising free at — http://rosa22.djh1001.hop.clickbank.net/ ***********************************************
