Photographers on cruise ships know how to do much more than take pictures. They motivate passengers, show passengers how to have a good time, and they hustle to make the bucks. Professional photographers on cruise ships work either solo or as part of a 6-7 member team under the direction of an seasoned Chief Photographer. In addition to a can-do attitude, friendly personality, and the ability to multi-task, photographers on cruise ships must have the ability to make split-second shots of passengers, process and develop photographs, set the stage if needed, and operate a wide range of cameras.
Photographers on cruise ships work on commission only. A good photographer can earn anywhere from $300 on the low end up to $1,000 on the high end per week. A big part of a photographers job is to catch passengers as the board the ship, shake hands with the captain, walk through gangways, dine in restaurants, leave the ship at various ports, and party. These photographs are placed on display where passengers can purchase them. This means, photographers are constantly on deadline to get the pictures on display, so that they can sell quickly. This part of the job equals big commissions for these professionals.

You can locate the cruise lines%u2019 OFFICIAL website by visiting the Ships and Cruises Directory for official listings. Once you have located the site, visit the website and search around for job postings. Most cruise line websites have a career center or job postings page. If the cruise line lists photography job openings, be sure to follow the application procedure to the letter. Applicants that do not follow directions are typically passed over in favor of those that do. If the cruise line does not list job openings on its site, send a polished cover letter and resume to the cruise lines Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Department is typically located at the cruise lines headquarters. This information is usually listed on the cruise line website as well. It is important to include the position you are interested in so that it can be directed to the appropriate department manager.

How Do You Get Security Jobs On Cruise Ships?
Hi, Im looking for someone who might know alitlle about getting a security job on a cruise ship or someone who is already one.
I am a police officer on a sabatical who is currenly looking for such work. I have applied for a few jobs on various cruise ships but security is really what im after.
Any help would be great!
With a police background, you will likely be an ideal candidate for a security position on a cruise ship. I would definitely contact the major cruise lines to find out. Here is a brief list.

How would I get a job on a cruise ship.?
I live in san diego and cruise ships come in and out all the time. Any tips or advice on how to get a job on one?
You need to go to the cruise line web sites. There you will find a link to jobs, employment, human resources or some such link that will give you information about their positions.
DO NOT use any other web sites that require you to pay a fee to register or get job information or referrals. Some cruise line sites may have current vacancies they are recruiting for. Several cruise lines have new ships coming out soon so opportunities will be there. Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Disney and some others will have new ships launched in the next couple years.

Carnival is the parent company for several cruise lines including Carnival, Cunard, Princess, and Holland America. So contacting Carnival will likely get you leads to the other cruise lines also.

Then Royal Caribbean cruise line is a partner with Celebrity and Azamara. So contacting RC will likely also get you leads to these others. Royal Caribbean has very good information about its positions. So if you go there first you will know what most ships have. Another thing to do is to contact the concession that run the shops on the ships like the souvenir, gift and clothing shops. These are the companies that hire the beauty shop/spa employees for ships. Below are links for you.

The cruise lines also hire people to work on land at call in reservation and information centers around the country. Some are in Miami and others are in Seattle and other cities. In addition, they also hire part-time people to work at the port on the days when ships are departing. So when you contact the cruise lines you may want to ask about those type positions also.

How do i get a job on a cruise ship?
I am an experienced barman and am hoping to get a job on a cruise ship so i can travel as i work. It is very hard to find out information on cruise ship vacancies can anyone help me? previous experience would be a great help. thanks.
Your best option is to go to the website for each of the cruise lines and check their employment/career/jobs page for instructions. I would not trust any "agency" that says they are doing hiring for cruise lines as the cruise lines normally do their own hiring.

How do i get a job on a cruise ship?
Hi all,
Does anyone have any insight on getting a job on a cruise ship? I have done several searches and all I’m coming across are dodgy looking sites that want me to pay to get tips?? I’ve been to some of the official web sites but still nothing.
Any tips or ideas would be so helpful.

With very few exceptions you must apply directly with the cruise companies for jobs! You can find information on their web sites — look for "employment" and related terms, and you will find it. The web sites that say they will handle applications for cruise jobs for you have their primary success in extracting about $50 from you and little if any success in getting jobs for people. Deal directly with the cruise companies!
