Michigan Cruise Ships?

Hello all. I am interested in Cruise Ship employment, however I live in Central Michigan. I have had Cruise Ship experience, but we only went out nine miles into international waters and came back(a day cruise) into port. Now I live in Michigan and wonder if there are any luxury cruise ships that go out from Michigan (since it's pretty much surrounded by water).

How would a cruise ship be able to leave from Michigan and go any where fancy. Just get the job and live on a ship going to tropical ports. work 6 – 10 months on board, get 3 off. in the 3 go home and see family then change ships go to another region, and do it all over again.

YOU don’t need to live at home to work on a cruise line.
