Why does it cost to apply for cruise ship jobs? What sites allow you to apply for free?
Every time I search for cruise ship jobs there is always a fee. There shouldn't be a fee to apply for any job. I appreciate all your help.
I have not worked on a cruise ship but I have talked to many people who do as I have done more than 20 cruises. But working on a cruise ship is no vacation, its hard work with long days for an extended period.
If you want to work on a cruise ship you need to start by going to the cruise line web sites. There you will find a link to jobs, employment, human resources or some such link that will give you information about their positions. Some cruise line, like Royal Caribbean, use hiring partners (people who do the screening and interviewing): https://jobs.rccl.com/jobs/rccl_jobs.nsf
http://www.royalfoodandbeveragecareers.c...
Find this link and then click on "careers" , then "hiring partners".
DO NOT use any other web sites that require you to pay a fee to register or get job information or referrals. Some cruise line sites may have current vacancies they are recruiting for.

You should not be dealing with the "we’ll find you a job" groups! To get a job with a cruise company, go to the company’s web site and find the link about jobs. There is never a fee to apply directly with a cruise company! Further, the cruise companies do their own hiring and don’t deal with the groups that want your money.

Stop going to those places that "find you a job" and go directly to the cruise line website such as Carnival, Princess, Royal Caribbean etc. As a warning though, one of the previous responders was correct. As a worker on a cruise ship you will spend at least 6 months on ship (sometimes 7 depending on your contract), there are NO "days off" that means you work a shift every single day. The pay is very good and you have free room and board but unless you have no family and don’t plan on having one for awhile then it’s probably not a good idea. You do get to see the world, but be forewarned that most of the crew on board are NOT american (90% are not) and most are young so the chances of getting hired on if you are a middle aged American are slim. Of course most Americans are too lazy to work 7 days a week for 6 months straight too though.
